In this connected age some people question why we still go to conferences. Last week I went to the Christchurch GAFE Summit. I learnt things, tips and tricks. Probably to be honest nothing I couldn't have learnt by myself by using online tools and tutorials along with my own exploration but to be honest I wouldn't have learnt it because the essential ingredient was the people, and being face to face. Hearing inspirational speakers impacted on me way beyond the conference, and rekindled my enthusiasm for teaching, exploring and learning new things and that in itself is a reason to, go far beyond anything you may learn.
